The North Coastal Sheriff's Station wants the community to know about an incident that occurred on Sunday, May 1, at 1600 hours. The incident occurred at Moonlight Beach, in the 400 block of W B Street, in Encinitas.
An unidentified male took the hand of a five-year-old child and attempted to walk away with her. The mother of the child saw this. The mother took a hold of her daughter's hand and yelled at the male. The unidentified male fled in a southern direction. The child was not hurt and is safe with her mother.
The male was described as white, in his mid-30's, 5'5", 160 pounds, skinny, with short or possible buzz cut blonde hair. The male was wearing only grey sweatpants and no shoes or shirt.
Detectives responded and are conducting an investigation.
