TEMECULA, CA — Have you ever wished to know a star's name, see the lines on Jupiter or the rings of Saturn, or look at the moon's craters up close? Temecula Valley Astronomers invites all to South Coast Resort and Winery for its weekly stargazing parties.
Held at 34843 Rancho California Road, the astronomers aim their telescopes skyward from dusk until they're ready to go home. A free party was set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and there will be more events coming.
"TVA provides the telescopes. You provide the awe and wonder," a spokesperson for the group wrote on Facebook.
TVA is a group of Southwest Riverside County enthusiasts dedicated to "sparking interest in amateur astronomy and supporting efforts related to all things cosmological through meetings and presentations, star parties, mentoring school clubs, special events, and other community outreach efforts," according to the nonprofit organization.
