Salem Man's Nap Leads To Arrest In Ipswich

SALEM, MA — A Salem man was ordered held on $50,000 bail after being arraigned on gun and drug charges in Ipswich District Court Wednesday. Richard Allen McMullen Jr., 25, of Salem, was charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition without licenses, as well as possession of methamphetamine, xanax and fentanyl with intent to distribute drugs. Ipswich police arrested McMullen around 6 a.m. Wednesday. Officer Mark Cecilio stopped to ask in McMullen needed assistance after seeing him asleep behind the wheel of a car parked on the side of Route 133.
