I am with a coalition of 6 teachers at Everett Middle school who are or are previously employed by SFUSD. We have been assaulted by students, gun threats, harmed, and refused the right to file a police report on violent students due to SFUSD's illegal policy of ignoring threats and assaults using "restorative justice" procedures and going against ed code, contract, and mandatory abuse reporting laws in CA. We know there are many others at Gateway, Paul Revere, and other tough schools. Please join our litigation to hold the district accountable and seek an injunction to allow the statutory right to seek police documented assistance with violent students. We seek punitive damages as well for teachers harmed by students. Our teachers have lost hearing due to concussion, suffer from PTSD due to gun threats, been assaulted (valid even if threatened harm), and threatened with credential removal (false), maced, and left under the bus so that Administration can NON-REPORT violence in the workplace.
