Join us for a family friendly 5K Run, Walk, Talk and a 1K Tot Trot to support the San Diego River Foundation! Come Run, Walk & Trot on the River!San Diego River Park Foundation is excited to announce the revival of Riverfest, a family-friendly run and activities that celebrate the preservation of the San Diego River and specifically the "Western 9" (the last nine miles of the San Diego River leading to the Pacific Ocean). Riverfest is on 5/22/22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.! Come out for our 5K Run, Walk, Talk and a 1K Tot Trot hosted by Milestone Running. We encourage you to dress up as your favorite bird and show your support for our feathered friends. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place finishers along with other categories. Proceeds go towards supporting and caring for the wildlife, habitat and further research along the San Diego River. Enjoy a new take on functional, reusable raceware!Bring an extra shirt to have the Riverfest logo applied.You really don't need another shirt, do you? So why not update and reuse one that you already love AND that you know fits?We will apply our logo using screen printed graphics, by using a heat press with your 100% cotton or polyester blend clothing. The size of the logo will be approximately 4"x 1.5" Your running bib will double as a bandana. One side of the bandana has map of the San Diego River.The other side will have an area for you to fill in your name. When folded appropriately, it will serve as a bib for the run. We will have safety pins for you to apply your your clothing. Customize your handmade medal. Made by a local scout troop, these are handcrafted using flower, salt, water and native plant seeds After the race you have the opportunity to color your medal using vegetable based water colors. After you're done enjoying your medal, return it to the earth and watch native San Diego plants grow! Public Transportation We encourage you to carpool or take public transportation. The Fashion Valley Transit Station is directly across the street from Riverwalk Golf Course. If you choose to bike, skate or other means of human-powered transportation, we will have a secure area to park and store your items. *We have a special treat for those who use these types of alternative transportation Parking Information Riverwalk Golf Club Parking Lot (1150 Fashion Valley Rd #1102, San Diego, CA 92108)Please follow signs to the run when you arrive at the entrance of the Riverwalk Golf Course off of Fashion Valley Road.Overflow parking will be located across the street from Riverwalk Golf Club at Fashion Valley Mall, the lower level of parking garage "1A". Bib Pick-Up You can pick up your bib at Milestone Running's Store in North Park (2545 El Cajon Blvd D, San Diego CA 92104). Thursday (5/19) and Friday (5/20) from 4p-6pSaturday (5/21) from 10a-12pEnjoy 15% off (full price) shoes and apparel if you should need anything. Event entry for 5k or 1k, reusable race bib (bandana), Riverfest logo application on the garment you bring and a handcrafted medal that can turn into a flower garden! Stay for all the free activities - yoga, live music, educational activities, vendors and beer garden and more. How can I volunteer for the event? We'd love the help! Sign up to volunteer for this event HERE. Can I attend the activities after the run, even if I don't sign up for the run? YES! We welcome everyone to join us for FREE yoga, educational activities, live music, vendors and more. How will the Riverfest logo be applied? We will use a heat press along with a screen printed transfer to apply the logo onto your garment. Be aware that this process is permanent and there is a possibility this will damage your garment. Can the parent/guardian run with their kid? YES! If you want to accompany your child during the 1k Tot Trot course you are more than welcome to.Is this event stroller friendly? Yes! Strollers are welcome both the 5k and the 1k. Don't forget to decorated strollers too!Is this a dog friendly event? Mostly - Your pet cannot get on the putting greens and will need to be monitored and leashed at all times. You must clean up after their messes.Have a question you don't see answered above?
