Description
SANTA CRUZ, CA — There will be an informational meeting about the new mixed-use library project in Santa Cruz Thursday night at 5:30 online.
The master architect team for the project will discuss the design of the new library coming to downtown and the overall plans for the site, the city said.
Interior and exterior designs of the library, rooftop and floor plans will also be unveiled. A survey on library use will follow the presentation.
As part of the city's vision for Downtown Santa Cruz as a 'housing-focused, mixed-use district,' the city says the new library project will serve as "the civic anchor to a pedestrian-centered downtown that prioritizes equity, inclusion and environment and preserves the eclectic culture that is unique to Santa Cruz."
The project includes a modern library, child care facility and up to 125 affordable housing units.
Register here for Thursday's meeting.
