Creative and want to help students and entry level songwriters?

Meets

Description

We are looking for musicians with a specific skill set in either vocals or singing, playing a solo instrument, from guitar, violin or wind instruments, to donate one evening a month to help do the prep/overdub segment of the songwriters "Songwash". The "songwash" is a free program to both students and up and coming singer songwriters. This segment you would involve in is only one evening a month and does the prep section, where we work a bit with someones original song (helping them get a good presentation and arrangement, make adjustments for intro's solo's, bridge, etc.). On the final Sunday of the month, they then go into Ocean West Studios where they each get a one hour tracking session with our "wrecking crew" of professional musicians to track their songs. The wrecking crew consists of local professional musicians who play at the casinos. We do not need any more session musicians. However, we now have started adding overdubs into the recordings they tracked, so there are windows to do that. We do this all volunteer and offer it for free. It is way fun and inspiring. We have some limited support and can give small travel stipends, however, there is not a paid gig here, and understand this is not for everyone. for more info look up: schoolforcreativecareers.org and you can look at the CBS ch8 news segment: https://www.cbs8.com/article/news/local/zevely-zone/paul-mccartney-microphone-inspires-young-talent-to-share-their-voice/509-f4005697-c439-40f8-b5f5-e5a20a77f45c
