Description

Hi! I am rehoming my boy Rio (10 mo., beautiful full red on right first picture) and girl Emi (11 mo., light red dapple mini w one blue eye - very rare and pretty) Dachshund puppies who are a bonded pair. They are NOT from the same litter, no "littermate syndrome" but are half brother and half sister - same father. I would prefer they go together as they love to sleep together, play together and they do everything together. They are fixed/neutered so no breeders please. I originally bought them both from someone who said they were AKC certified, but did not have the paperwork - at the time I didn't really care b/c I wasn't going to breed them. I am selling them, unfortunately because a break up has me going to an apartment and they will not allow pets which makes me really sad because I do not want to get rid of them. I would prefer someone that would make sure to take them on their daily walks and spend a lot of time with them. Right now I am having to kennel them quite a bit when I'm gone and I don't like that. A big yard for them to run in is a huge +++. They are both EXTREMELY sweet when they warm up to you and BOTH will cuddle with you for the entire night. It is so good having them around - they have so much potential in the right home. They are GREAT with other dogs and very friendly/playful once they feel them out. They were in a home with 2 big dogs and 2 other dachshunds and they got along great with all of them. They are trained to go on their walks and not pull. They are not super barky/yappy unless they see someone they don't know enter the house (which is a good thing). They are timid at first bc they are puppies but will warm up to you the more they stay with you - they have to get to know you first which took us a day or so. Puppy socialization classes would be a great thing for them so that they are more comfortable around strangers. They both know sit already. They are semi-house broken meaning they will go on their pads in the house AND they will go outside IF you take them out multiple times a day. If you forget, they will go in your house because they are puppies and they are still learning and that's on you to teach them (many youtube videos on potty training). They usually will go on the pads if I have them down if it's raining outside. They are crate trained - but will cry for a few days if they are in a new situation so you will need to give them time/work to let them get used to it. They have settled down mostly in my situation - I occasionally have to give their crate a few taps and tell them no, but it's pretty good overall - they like their crate/home. I need someone that will put in the work that they require. The rehoming fee is $400 each, less than I paid for them - I am not making money off them. They have all of their vaccinations, too. I will throw in their wire kennel which they like/are used to. I am open to splitting them up but if someone will take them as a bonded pair and they are a good fit I will take that person over the others - just an FYI.
