Good day, neighbors! It's me again, Jeri Karges, your host of the Sacramento Daily. First, today's weather: Considerable cloudiness. High: 76 Low: 48. Here are the top five stories today in Sacramento: At least six people were killed and at least 12 were injured in a shooting in downtown Sacramento early Sunday morning. Multiple shooters were involved in the mass shooting, according to Sacramento Police chief Kathy Lester. Police in the downtown area heard gunshots at around 2 a.m. They found a large crowd in the area of 10th Street and K Street and six people dead, Lester told reporters. Three men and three women were killed in the shooting. Another 12 people were either taken to local hospitals or transported themselves. Two of the six people who were killed have been identified, according to ABC10 Sacramento. Family members of Sergio Harris and DeVazia Turner confirmed to the TV station that they were among those killed in the mass shooting. "We are asking for the public's help in [identifying] the suspects in this and providing any information to help us solve this," Lester said. People with information or video should submit it to the Sacramento Police Department through its evidence portal for the shooting.(Sacramento Patch) A teenage boy is accused of making the fake bomb threat that closed a South Sacramento Sam's Club for hours on Friday. Investigators say they received a phone call from a store employee around 5:20 p.m. Friday reporting that the suspect had handed an employee a note saying there was a bomb in the store. The suspect, 13, was issued a felony citation for reporting a false bomb threat, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said Saturday. (Good Day Sacramento)Following the trend across the nation, in Sacramento COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped to their lowest levels since the early days of the pandemic. In fact, earlier this week UC Davis Health announced that for the first time in two years, they saw no COVID patients in their ICU for two consecutive days. (ABC10)The West Sacramento Police Department is asking for help in identifying a burglary suspect who attempted to rob a home last week. The attempted burglary happened in the 800 block of River Crest Drive on Sunday around 1:40 a.m., the West Sacramento Police Department said in a release.
