Sake is a 4 year old Shih Tzu mix who was rescued from a shelter. Poor little dude had come in super duper matted and the only solution was to shave his fur alllll the way down. It will grow back in time and be beautiful, but his adopters will need to make sure to keep him well-groomed so he never has to deal with those painful mats again! Sake is a timid fellow who is a bit uncertain about meeting new people and going into new situations. He's really a love, but he needs you to earn his trust, and once you do, he becomes a sweetheart and a lap dog. His foster home set him up in a pen with everything he needed and told him, "you can approach us when you're ready," and on the third day, Sake said he was ready to be their best friend! He also loves squeaky toys and playing his version of fetch, which may or may not involve bringing the toy back to you :). Sake is a couch potato kind of pup. A few walks a day will be plenty for him. He just wants to be warm and cozy and snuggle up with his people! Sake is only an option for a home that has had a dog in the last 5 years. If there are children in the home, they should be over the age of 8.
