A non-speed event along the scenic and charming country roads of Johnson City to Fredericksburg, TX VETMotorsports and the Lone Star Region of Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) would like to invite car enthusiasts to join us for the 7 May Johnson City to Fredericksburg RoadRally. It is only 30 miles from Johnson City to Fredericksburg down US 290 but our RoadRally route will take us 130 miles through the hill county on scenic Farm, Ranch, and country roads. Along the way, we will stop along the way at CarsBikesBoats to enjoy Hans Derocher’s collection of vintage cars. This will be a wonderful way to enjoy the late wildflowers and to learn more about the history of central Texas. After visiting CarsBikesBoats in Round Mountain, the route will wander about central Texas for sixty miles before making a quick stop at the Frontier Outpost on Ranch Road 965 where participants will be urged to buy a souvenir to show at our end of rally social. Our final stop will be at Eaker’s BBQ on Main Street in Fredericksburg. There we can enjoy their BBQ and discuss the ups and downs of our Rally route. Everyone can then vote on awards. The whole purpose of this event is to support the SCCA idea of “Have Fun In Cars”. Registration will be from 11:00 to Noon on the north side of the Dairy Queen on US 281 in Johnson City. There will be a required Safety Meeting at 11:45 and the first car can depart at Noon. This event will follow COVID protocols and all participants are asked to bring masks and writing pens. Hand sanitizer and a limited number of masks will be available at registration. This event is open to the general public who can register on-site and pay the entry nominal entry fee.
