Description

NRC Research Institute, in the city of Orange, CA is currently enrolling child and adolescent patients into our ADHD research studies! Our studies are attempting to understand if new medications are safe and effective at treating ADHD. Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is an increasingly recognized disorder characterized by 3 core symptoms of hyperactivity, inattentiveness, and impulsivity. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder is typically viewed as a childhood/adolescent disorder. ADHD frequently begins between 2 and 4 years of age and it is most commonly diagnosed between ages 7 and 10 years. Stimulants are the first-line pharmacotherapies for the treatment of ADHD. However, 10% to 30% of patients do not adequately respond to stimulants or experience intolerable side effects. Therefore, there is an unmet need for new efficacious and safe treatments for individuals suffering from ADHD. Some ADHD symptoms may include: -Difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities -Not seeming to listen when spoken to directly -Being easily distracted -Fidgeting with or tapping hands or feet -Talking excessively -Interrupting or intruding on others YOU MAY QUALIFY TO PARTICIPATE IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW: Are between 4 to 17 years old Require additional help in managing symptoms mentioned above Are willing to take study medication The study doctor will discuss other requirements.
