Add your voice to a song about our collective power with 3x GRAMMY-nominated Alphabet Rockers. Go Girls! + the Alphabet Rockers are sending a shout out to youth(8-12 years old) to Take Center Stage in a interactive songwriting experience on Sunday, March 13. This interactive workshop with Alphabet Rockers co-founders Kaitlin McGaw (she/her) and Tommy Soulati Shepherd (he/him/they) invites youth into a songwriting practice connecting our individual self-empowerment to a community framework of liberation. Using songs rooted in transformative justice from their upcoming album for children and families, participants will be immersed in a space of equity, belonging and radical imagination. Grown-ups are asked to check-in their child(ren) at the Hipline Dance Studio for the 90 minute workshop. Due to Covid protocols and room capacity in the studio, space is limited to youth participants and Go Girls! + Alphabet Rockers teaching artists. Grown-ups are welcome to wait at the Lakeshore Shopping Center (Trader Joe's/Peet's) during the workshop. Participants are asked to wear socks inside the dance studio.
