Alpine Fire In Sonoma County Stopped At 7 Acres: Cal Fire

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A timber fire Tuesday above Monte Rio in Sonoma County was stopped at 7 acres, the Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said. The Alpine Fire was first reported around 3 p.m. Tuesday. By 5:15 p.m., the fire was described as 7-10 acres with a "slow rate of spread." Cal Fire confirmed around 8:15 p.m. the fire was 7 acres of timber and said crews would continue to work through the night and Wednesday to mop up hot spots and secure control lines. No structures were immediately threatened and there were no evacuation warnings issued, the agency said.
