Press release from Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce: 14 February 2022 Irving needs volunteers to help count its homeless population this month. The annual survey is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Feb. 24. Cities conduct point-in-time counts, which are one-night censuses, to help policy makers develop programs and services to assist the homeless population. In Irving, volunteers will break into teams, escorted by a police officer. All supplies are provided, except for smartphones, which are needed to fill out surveys.
