HanaHaus Presents: A Conversation Between Silicon Valley and Hollywood with Peter Shiao and Chris Yeh Details Join Peter Shiao, Founder & CEO of Immortal Studios, and Chris Yeh, Entrepreneur & NY Times Best Selling Author, at HanaHaus Palo Alto on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 6:30 pm (PST) for an insightful conversation about the parallels between Silicon Valley and Hollywood. This will be the first in-person event at HanaHaus in over 2 years and because it's St. Patrick's Day, you can expect small appetizers, cold drinks, and St. Patty's Day themed cookies! PLEASE NOTE: All attendees will be required to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event in order to attend in person. Discussion Silicon Valley and Hollywood – they are both legendary American industries in which talented professionals come together quickly around high-risk projects to produce blockbuster hits or famous flops that touch the lives of millions and billions around the world. Yet despite their many similarities, Silicon Valley and Hollywood each struggle to understand the other flagship industry in California. This event tries to bridge that gap in understanding. Chris Yeh, the co-author of Blitzscaling, and Peter Shiao, the founder and CEO of Immortal Studios, will discuss why Silicon Valley and Hollywood have struggled to work together, and how they can collaborate more fruitfully in the future – through the prism of a new ambitious startup seeking to bridge the gap with a Silicon Beach way to launch a new global studio focused on the Wuxia (martial arts fantasy) genre. Immortal Studios is building “the next Marvel” (according to The Wrap) which includes the use of digital comics as “minimum viable product” MVP’s and leveraging new technologies like NFTs to reward and engage fans. The future of technology is content, and the future of content is technology. As a special bonus, all attendees will receive a signed copy of the cover art for Immortal’s first comic book release. A physical “NFT” if you will! Run of Show 6:30pm - Check-in / Food & Drinks 6:45pm - Event Begins 7:30pm - Q&A Begins 8:00pm - Event Ends Requirements All attendees must show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the event in order to attend in person.
