Description
The Idea - Start an 80's themed cover band to play locally and/or regionally a couple of times per month.
The Gimmick - The band is a take-off on the Rat Pack from the 1950's - Dean Martin, Frank, etc. - but done in a similar manner to Steel Panther - with banter, jokes, horsing around and entertaining the people - just like the original rat pack did it. Cigarettes and liquor are optional. If it requires costumes and hairpieces or makeup to make it look good - then so be it. It's a show - right?
The Players - Anyone who loves 80's music and considers themselves a good intermediate or better musician. The music is Judas Priest to Phillip Bailey. If it gets people moving and it's from the 80's or early 90's then it's OK.
I play guitar and sing but my voice isn't what it used to be. I can also play drums and bass on a passable level if needed. Looking for a bassist, a drummer and a keyboard player and possibly another guitar player. Keys are a must for this style of music.
Requirements are you must not be a jerk. Introverts are encouraged to consider applying but like...no pressure. Also, I am absolutely not "woke" - in case you were wondering. Rehearsal together once a week and practice at home as needed to get it right. I have gigged a couple times but I am definitely not a pro.
Details to be worked out later. OK - who is interested?
Here's a link to a few songs I wrote and recorded myself. It's more modern rock and not 80's related. Email me back on C.L. and I'll send you a better email for me. After that please send me a link to something with you playing - audio or video. Doesn't have to be fancy.
