Description
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — The Foothill-De Anza Community College District Board of Trustees will begin public hearings on draft boundary maps next week, as it transitions from at-large elections to trustee area elections beginning in 2022.
Draft boundary maps were posted for review and comment by community members on the district's website. The draft maps, based on 2020 U.S. Census data, indicate how local communities in the district could be divided into five areas of roughly equal population.
The district prepared three draft maps. Draft Map A follows city boundaries, Draft Map B follows boundaries for both cities and schools and Draft Map C prioritizes school boundaries.
The Foothill-De Anza Community College District stretches from Palo Alto to San Jose.
Public hearings where members of the public can comment on the draft boundaries will take place Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.
The trustees are scheduled to approve a final map on Feb. 14.
