Join us for the fifth annual Shane Harris Community Christmas Day Breakfast and Gift Giveaway. This year's annual event will feature three gifts for kids and youth in attendance, a full breakfast for the entire family, and snow outside as you enter the venue. The Shane Harris Community Christmas Breakfast, held annually, is critical because it is the only event of it's kind in all of San Diego Christmas morning and is set up to uniquely provide a full Christmas experience specifically to foster youth and families, homeless and runaway youth, and families that have struggled to recover financially from the pandemic. The event was launched five years ago by national civil rights activist and former foster youth Shane Harris who leads the People's Association of Justice Advocates. Harris started the annual event after he realized there was nothing to fill the void so many children in the foster care system or living on the streets face every year. He experienced 13 years in San Diego's foster care system and overcame the odds he faced going through eight different homes and after the losses of his parents. Last year we served and brought Christmas to over 700 families in a drive through experience like no other in town. This year we are going back in doors and providing the full sit-down experience like we did previous to last year. The People’s Alliance for Justice is a national human/civil rights organization founded to keep Dr. Martin Luther King's dream alive by taking direct action with a balanced standard of justice for all no matter what race, religion, criminal record, sexuality, gender status, or citizenship.
