Round Rock Fire Invites Public To Visit Stations At Open House

ROUND ROCK, TX — The Round Rock Fire Department wants to invite the community to visit their local stations during its city-wide Open House event on Saturday. Round Rock families will be able to learn about the department from local firefighters, tour the fire station and participate in activities for the whole family from 8 a.m. to noon. The free event will also welcome guests to take a tour of the fire house, sit in a fire truck and try on some of the firefighters' gear. Live in Round Rock? Fire officials said the public can learn more about fire prevention and learn how to become a firefighter themselves. "Prevention is a huge part of our work, and it's important to be familiar with your local fire station when you're not in an emergency situation," said Interim Fire Chief Shane Glaiser. "We're excited to get to know more of our neighbors and build relationships that will make us stronger as a community."
