PALM DESERT, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department put out a plea Friday mornig, asking the public for leads to help track down the person(s) who killed Palm Desert resident Edward V. Snyder earlier this month. The 47-year-old man was found dead on Nov. 11. Deputies responded to a report of gunshots at 10:21 p.m. that night, near the Palm Desert Country Club, and found Snyder lying in the street "suffering from trauma to his body consistent with a homicide," according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Snyder was already dead and was a homicide victim, according to the agency. Investigators canvassed the area of Fred Waring Drive and Tennessee Avenue, but a suspect(s) was not found, the department said. Investigators are asking that anyone who saw or heard suspicious or unusual activity in the area between 8 p.m. and midnight on Nov. 11 contact Lead Investigator Vasquez of the Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3529 or Investigator Chua of the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station at 760-836-1600. Citizens can also submit a tip using the Sheriff's Homicide Tipline online form. A GoFundMe page has been posted by a woman who said she is a friend of the Synder family. As of Friday morning, the page had raised more than $6,300. —GoFundMe is a Patch promotional partner.
