Shuttered San Rafael Venue Aims To Help Those In Need

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A recently shuttered music venue that for nearly 10 years brought joy and entertainment to Marin now wants to bring some comfort to those in need as it closes out its final chapter. Terrapin Crossroads, founded by former Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, earlier this month announced plans to close the San Rafael venue. But before it checks out for good, Terrapin Crossroads is holding a garage sale this weekend with proceeds benefiting two San Rafael nonprofits that provide direct assistance to the community's most vulnerable; the Ritter Center and the Canal Alliance. The sale will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Beach Park. "We'll have a wide variety of shopping from furniture to kitchenware to your favorite Terrapin Crossroads Merch!" Terrapin Crossroads wrote on its Facebook page. "ALL proceeds will go to The Canal Alliance and Ritter House. We'll be accepting cash or credit cards, and Terrapin Crossroads gift cards will be honored to purchase items. Delivery will be available for some larger items and can be arranged through a third party on site.
