Our Magnificent Anderson series ends on a high note with Wes Anderson’s colorful dramedy, THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. Our Magnificent Andersons series ends on a high note with Wes Anderson’s colorful dramedy, The Grand Budapest Hotel. One of Anderson’s most ornately-styled films, the movie tells the story of Zero (Tony Revolori), the lobby boy of the Grand Budapest, and Monsiuer Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes), the hotel concierge, who prides himself on satisfying the needs of hotel guests–for some guests, in more ways than one. When Gustave’s mistress, Madame D (Tilda Swinton), mysteriously dies and leaves a rare Renaissance painting for him, he becomes the main suspect in her murder. Along with Zero’s girlfriend, Agatha (Saoirse Ronan), Gustave and Zero set out to prove his innocence and keep the fortune that is righteously Gustave’s. A fan favorite and box-office success, The Grand Budapest Hotel navigates themes of loyalty, nostalgia, war, and fascism in a whimsical and fanciful setting, true to Anderson’s signature style. “Grand isn’t good enough a word for this Budapest Hotel. Great is more like it” – Richard Corliss, Time “A warmly whimsical and deftly magical tale of love, robbery, murder and comedy mishaps all set against the fantastical backdrop of an imaginary central European region, Wes Anderson’s beautiful and thoroughly enjoyable The Grand Budapest Hotel sees the director deliver his best film. It will enchant fans of his signature precious and warmly deadpan comedy style and draw in those who may be new to the unique Wes Anderson vision” – Mark Adams, Screen Daily “This might just be Wes Anderson’s best film; it’s certainly his most thrilling. The cult director has bolstered the whimsical humor and trademark character studies with a raucous crime caper in The Grand Budapest Hotel, and it’s a riot.” – Nico Hines, The Daily Beast The Frida Cinema is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching, connecting, and educating communities through the art of cinema.  Founded in 2014, it is Orange County's sole non-profit, independent cinema.OC's year-round film festival.
