Our Civil Rights law firm is looking for individuals to participate in a mock jury trial, conducted via Zoom. You must be a resident of Alameda, Contra Costa, Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Mateo, or Sonoma County to be eligible. Your input and observations will impact real trial strategy. The mock trial will be held either December 4th, 11th, or 18th depending upon the availability of interested applicants. This event will be conducted over Zoom for 8 hours, with two 15 minute breaks and a 30 minute lunch. Compensation for participation is $240, payable after a “verdict” is reached. Payment can be made via Venmo or by check, and can also be provided in cash if the applicant is willing to come to our office near San Jose Airport and pick it up. Additional compensation of $50 is available for the completion of a recorded video (up to 30 minutes) discussing your thoughts with our attorneys about the case and the presentation of the case, some day within 10 days after the verdict. This meeting can also be by Zoom or even telephone. To participate, you must be: A U.S. citizen. 20 years or older. Eligible for jury duty. Willing and able to sign a comprehensive and legally binding confidentiality agreement. Willing to be recorded on video and audio (to be viewed only by this firm, never distributed). Able to show a government-issued photo ID at start of event. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPATE: A computer or tablet (no phones) with audio and video capabilities. A reliable and fast internet connection. The ability to be in an uninterrupted and private space for the entirety of the 8-hour period. If agreeing to the up to 30 minutes post-trial recorded interview, you must agree to conduct that within 10 days of the original mock trial, and that money will be paid separately.
