By Editor, Times of San Diego November 11, 2021 San Diego County reported 476 new cases of COVID-19 and eight more deaths Thursday. The latest figures bring the county's case totals to 376,587, while the death toll rose to 4,280. Twenty more people required hospital treatment for COVID-19, the county said Thursday, and one person needed to be admitted to intensive care. Meanwhile, through Tuesday, nearly 280,000 San Diegans had received a COVID-19 booster and 7,320 children ages 5 through 11 had received their first shot of the Pfizer/BioNTech's vaccine. More than 900,000 U.S. children aged 5 to 11 were expected to have received their first COVID-19 shot by the end of Wednesday, the White House said. The U.S. began administering the Pfizer vaccine to children on Nov. 3. Reuters contributed to this report.
