Sushi Chef Wanted for Two Person Cooking Lesson and Dinner

Events

San Diego CA

Description

I’d like to surprise my boyfriend with a 2 hour at home cooking lesson and dinner from a sushi chef. Pay: $180 + $80 for food/materials + up to 20% tip. (Pay can be negotiated if necessary to meet my requirements.) Qualifications: Ideally someone who is working or has worked as a sushi chef in a nicer sushi establishment. Someone who is charismatic, friendly, and patient. Details: Sushi chef will bring food to prepare and cook, any equipment as necessary unless it is something I already have on hand. Higher quality is preferred over higher quantity, but we’d like to be full afterwards. Our favorites fishes are Salmon Belly, Yellowtail Belly, Kampachi. I like shiso, yuzu, and weird stuff like Uni and Monkfish Liver. Please feel free to surprise us with anything you are particularly fond of. I would like to start with learning to make sushi rice, where to buy and how to select fish, how to make nigiri, rolls, and handrolls, along with one or more sauces. We will provide our own sake or wine and would be happy to share. Location: Small Studio Apartment in Old Town San Diego (I have a dog.) Please send: if interested, please send a brief summary of your restaurant experience and places you’ve worked at. Include any experience you have doing something similar. A suggested menu for the evening would be nice as well. To reiterate, you can be brief. I will want to schedule a 10-15 call later so we are on the same page in regards to date, time, location, menu, equipment needed, space requirements, and any preparations I need to make ahead of schedule. We are flexible and willing to accommodate your schedule.
