Here are the top stories today in Sacramento: The Colour of Music Festival is coming to Sacramento for the first time, now through Saturday. The music festival is performed by an all-Black cast of professional classical musicians and artists. The festival was supposed to come to Sacramento in 2020 but had to be postponed because of COVID-19 shutdowns. Festival venues include the Mondavi Center at UC Davis, Memorial Auditorium and the Guild Theater in Oak Park. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting www.colourofmusic.org. (KCRA3) The value of Sacramento County crops dipped slightly last year, but agriculture continues to be an important player in the local economy. Wine grapes once again took the lead as the highest-valued commodity, with a value of close to $156 million. Milk and other dairy products remained the County's second-highest valued commodity at $64 million, an increase in value of 25 percent over 2019. About 16,000 dairy cows live on 16 family-owned dairies in Sacramento County. The 2020 report includes a list of local Certified Farmer's Markets and a 2022 calendar with full-color illustrations. (Saccounty.gov)When Allyson Seconds sets her mind to something, she makes it happen. This nature lover was out hiking over a decade ago and noticed a disturbing trend. "We're creating more trash," she said. In a completely "grass roots" effort, she grabbed a few folks and created a Tower Bridge cleanup effort that spawned many more, eventually forming a group called Sacramento Picks It Up. "It's just word of mouth, and we've discovered a lot of folks like us and are finding us on Facebook and Instagram," Seconds said. It seems to be working. They doubled the number of people at last Saturday's cleanup along the American River, clearing out 6,200 pounds of trash. (Good Day Sacramento)A man was killed Monday morning after a shooting during a possible robbery inside a home in Sacramento. Officers found a man lying in front of the residence with at least one gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department officials. Based on the initial investigation, police believe the man was shot by a resident of the home. The man may have "been involved in a robbery that was occurring inside of the residence," police said. (KCRA3)A search is underway for two men from Alabama who disappeared Friday while visiting friends in the Sacramento area. 25-year-old LaDexter Pelt of Green County, Alabama was traveling with his friend 20-year-old John Dubose Jr., who is also from Alabama. Police in Gridley told FOX40 that the pair were last seen Friday in their city, which is about an hour north of downtown Sacramento. The men's families said neither man has been to Gridley before and they have no acquaintances in the area. The Sacramento and Gridley police departments are investigating the disappearances. They are tracking cellphone towers in an effort to pinpoint their most recent movements. Anyone with information is urged to call Sacramento or Gridley police.
