My band and I are in search of a bass player for our band. A little bit about us We are a working band in Houston that has a goal to make our music into a living. We have our music out everywhere, music videos, merch, etc... We take inspiration from numerous bands... Man Overboard, Senses Fail, New Found Glory, blink-182, Yellowcard, Moose Blood, Taking Back Sunday, Belmont, the list goes on... We have been playing live for about a year now. We have opened up for big name bands this year such as The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Bowling for Soup. We are a drug-free band and do not drink at shows. We are simply there to play our music and have fun while presenting ourselves with professionalism. We always try to have our gigs at well-known venues around Houston. We play at Scout Bar frequently as well as Warehouse Live. We typically try to have at least 2 shows a month. We attempt to practice at least once a week, but it really depends on what we have coming up. Our practices are usually held in Pearland, but also sometimes in Clear Lake. We are a 4 piece band.. I'm 21 on rhythm guitar/vocals, our lead guitarist is 21, and our drummer is 17. We are all laid back guys that aren't very demanding Things you should know if interested: - Age is not a huge deal, but we'd prefer if you are in our general age range.... 17-25ish... - Please have your own transportation and good gear that sounds good. We all play on pro gear and would hope you'd do the same - Not interested in anyone that smokes/does drugs and wants to get hammered at shows.. AFTER we play is fine! - Please know how to play bass. We don't expect you to shred, as we don't shred ourselves. Our songs are pretty straight forward and simple, we just ask that you please be somewhat fluent on your instrument. - We are pretty flexible on our schedules.. Everyone in the band goes to school and/or works, so we make everything work around that. - We all contribute to the band financially when neccessary. Now that we have merch and are making income for the band it isn't as big of a deal as it used to be. However, if/when it becomes neccesary, we do ask that you as well help contribute. The only time this will really become a factor is when we go to the studio and do music videos. - We hope you want to make music a living just as much as we do. We are a working band that takes it seriously, but we also have fun - Extra points if you can sing! Our music has a lot of dualing vocals, so if you can sing that is great. Also extra points if you are well versed on running social media and booking shows -Lastly, please understand that if you do join the band, everyone in the band has the right to their own opinion on what we do and how we do it, then we bring it all together and find common ground. No one "runs" the band and makes exceutive decisions, we all make the decisions ourselves. The only show we currently have booked for the rest of this year thus far is at "Come and Take It Live" in Austin, TX on December 26. However, we will for sure have numerous shows between now and then. Just please understand that we may have some out of town shows here and there, and are planning to try and do a Texas tour come next year.
