Carnaval Explosion has spent the last decade bringing the Diasporic community together through positive, Pan-African cultural arts classes, conscious performing arts, community wellness, and the revolutionary liberation that comes from the collective joy and passion of many community artists working together. This year, we are raising funds for our flagship event, Oakland Carnival, and to honor the life and legacy of one of our founding Funkquarians, our Queen of Beats, the late Monica Hastings-Smith.
