Join us as Congressman Taylor presents WWII medals to the Gibbs Family for the dedicated service of their Veteran family member Please join as we pay respects to the Gibbs family as Congressman Taylor presents World War II medals in honor of their Veteran family member First Lieutenant William Jennings Bryan Duncan. The celebration will be in the Amphitheater at the Oak Point Park, Plano (across from Collin College). First Lieutenant William Jennings Bryan Duncan Lt Duncan joined the Unites States Army on March 3, 1942 and served until July 3, 1946. He was serving in Papuan Luzon, New Guinea in the Philippine Islands in April of 1942. He was captured by the Japanese during invasion of the Philippines. Lt Duncan survived the Bataan Death March and was a Prisoner of War for three years until liberated by American forces in October of 1944. Be sure to join the Catherine Gibbs family as they honor their father, WWII hero, Bataan Death March Survivor and Prisoner of War. Congressman Taylor will officiate at the medal presentation ceremony at the Plano Flags of Honor. After the ceremony, please take time to appreciate the 1000 flags celebrating our Country, our brave Veterans and courageous First Responders. The Flags of Honor celebration is at Oak Point Park, Plano. Veterans Center of North Texas (VCONT) is a nonprofit organization that has two primary missions. First, we assist the prevention of homelessness in the Veteran community. Second, we provide resources and services to enable Veterans and their families to establish and maintain stable lifestyles within our communities. Please support our Veteran community!
