Wayne Simmons, who is accused of lying about a career with the CIA, has pleaded guilty to major fraud against the United States. "Former CIA operative Wayne Simmons says he's not so sure the rebels are friends of ours," Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto said during a broadcast. Simmons was a regular commentator on Fox News until March of 2020, often talking about terror-related issues. He frequently claimed to be speaking from experience as an intelligence official and claimed to have sources with inside knowledge. But prosecutors say his career with the agency never happened. Simmons admitted in court that he can't provide any evidence that he worked for the CIA but maintained his career was real. Authorities say he also lied about his history in order to receive government contracting work. He reported making more than $78,000 from those jobs. Simmons also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and wire fraud. The charges against him carry a maximum sentence of 40 years. Wayne Simmons deceived and defrauded a global constituency. He is charlatan extraordinaire, who deserves a sentence greater than 33 months in federal prison and $125k in restitution. He lied profusely and shamelessly about prior CIA and Special Ops military experience (no affiliation), falsely received high-level security clearances, spearheaded a real estate scam, and illegally possessed multiple firearms as a prior felon, who once before broke the law and possessed illegal firearms. Illegal firearms possession earns most prior felons (less affluent ones) a 60 month sentence. According to the Washington Post, "investigators had recovered two guns when arresting him and that he had a previous federal conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm." The state of Maryland should hold this two-time offender accountable and pursue felony firearms possession charges beyond federal fraud convictions. Wayne Simmons is an affront to the conservative politics he touts--a pernicious hypocrite. Who, in their right mind, would ever go on TV making claims like these? Didn't he think someone might check his credentials? Oh wait...it's Fox...nevermind. ;-) He will have earned every second of his sentence. Basically the poster boy for all 'experts' on Fox. OH MY GOD! Fox lied? My question is why now? What started this? How did his "colleagues" not rat him out? I believe there is more to this story.
