Press release from City of San Ramon:
11/02/2021
The City of San Ramon is beginning the process of re-drawing the district lines for future City Council elections, based on new data from the 2020 Census.
In 2019, the City of San Ramon undertook the process of moving from at-large elections to district-based elections for the Mayor and all City Council seats.
San Ramon's first District Election took place in November 2020, with the Mayor elected at-large, and City Councilmembers from Districts 1 & 3 elected by district. In November 2022, the Mayoral seat will again be elected at-large, and Councilmembers from Districts 2 & 4 will be elected by district.
The 2022 redistricting process was initiated by the release of 2020 Census block-level redistricting data.
Public input is key to the redistricting process, and the process will include four (4) public hearings. These hearings will take place at City Council meetings, and the redistricting process is expected to be complete in the spring of 2022.
