Description
When I was in high school - I got good enough grades to make it into a really good Big Ten university. As a kid, my dad made it clear he would not help financially with college. I could not blame him as he had 4 kids that were college bound and he wanted to retire early (aged 57) and move to San Diego. It would have been 5 kids, but one didn't make it. RIP Richard.
So I worked in restaurants, mowed lawns and did other menial work to pay my way. I saved and made enough to graduate. After graduation, I packed my bags and moved to California's, beach towns. Life was good. Lots of time in the ocean, my commute took me to work there and back along the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
Fast forward: Wanted a break from being "rent poor" - the idea that 50% or more of my take home pay went towards rent.
NOTE: I am excited to finish the story - but don't want anyone to get bored and fall alseep. Email me - and I will post the continuation of the story.
