Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: The community of Folsom has expressed concerns over a proposed project by Pacific Gas and Electric, that entails the removal of several trees near a popular trail and park. PG&E had failed to show at a City Council meeting on Tuesday night where members of the community and community officials voiced concerns over the proposed project. But on Friday morning, the utility company announced it is putting the project on hold. "We are listening to the concerns expressed by the City of Folsom. We are pausing our work in Folsom addressing vegetation along the Oak Parkway Trail and Cummings Family Park public recreation areas in order to continue the conversation with community stakeholders," said PG&E's Megan McFarland. (Folsom Telegraph)Two people were killed and five others were hurt after a shooting at a party called The Exotic Erotic Ball in Sacramento County early Saturday morning, according to the sheriff's office. Officials said there were hundreds of people in attendance at the party. Officials with the sheriff's office said it's unclear how many guns were fired and how many suspects deputies are looking for though the shooting happened just steps from the sheriff's office building. (KCRA3)On November 6, Elk Grove welcomes a new outdoor recreation center, The Preserve at District 56. District 56 is located at 9701 Big Horn Boulevard and offers a 30 acre peaceful and natural oasis. The City of Elk Grove used a $3 Million Land Water Conservation Fund Grant from California State Parks to fund the project. The recreation center will include a number of areas for outdoor entertainment, acres of wetland, and plenty of nature trails to enjoy with the family. (Elk Grove Tribune)Was there a sale on machetes? Last week a suspect wielded a stolen one at a homeowner who chased him off with a baseball bat. Then, this weekend there was an assault just after midnight Saturday near H and 9th Streets where one man attacked another with a machete. The victim of the attack was taken to an are hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The attacker was arrested at the scene of the crime on a charge of assault. I feel like I'm on the set of an Indiana Jones movie. (ABC10)Cosumnes Oaks High School was under a precautionary lockdown on Friday after officials got a report of a weapon on campus. According to a message from Principal Johnny Jauregui sent to parents, both Cosumnes Oaks and Elizabeth Pinkerton Elementary went on a precautionary lockdown after they got the report. After a search of the campus, officials say no weapon was found. The lockdown ended just after noon.
