Each team will be given sharpened Axes and will stand on their log with the axe head on the log. When the judge blows the whistle, both will begin to split their log. The person who splits their log the fastest will win. The log must be split into two whole pieces to determine a winner. **While splitting the log, it must be split from the power of the axe's edge. Flipping the axe over on the brunt side to split the log is prohibited. Breaking the log forcefully either by your hands or feet is prohibited. Contestants may only spin the log one time during the competition. Participants are allowed to step off of the log, but once you step off of the log, you are not allowed to get back on the log at all during the competition.** At the end of the tournament, the judges will add up the scores for all the teams and the winning team will be declared.
