NRC Research Institute, in the city of Orange, CA is currently enrolling patients into our Social Anxiety research studies! Our studies are attempting to understand if new medications are safe and effective at treating social anxiety disorder. The essential features of social anxiety disorder (SAD) are defined as intense, marked and persistent fear of social or performance situations, in which the subject believes embarrassment, humiliation, judgement, or rejection could occur as a consequence of exposure to unfamiliar people or possible scrutiny by others in the social or performance (e.g., public speaking) situation. The anxiety or fear resulting from the social or performance situation is profound. The avoidance, fear, or anxious anticipation of these situations interferes significantly with the person’s daily routine, having a marked impact on occupational functioning and social life. YOU MAY QUALIFY TO PARTICIPATE IF YOU: Are between 18 to 65 years old Have been experiencing symptoms of anxiety Are willing to take study medication The study doctor will discuss other requirements.
