Cultiva La Salud and UC Merced invite to you to welcome two time Pulitzer editorial cartoonist Mr. Lalo Alcaraz. Cultiva La Salud-Merced County will host a conversation with Mr. Lalo Alcaraz and feature an art exhibition of the most relevant art pieces he created for COVIDLatino.org. Lalo Alcaraz created with humor yet serious campaign for the COVIDLatino.org project to disseminate the information about the COVID-19 vaccines, testing and downplay the hesitancy regarding vaccinations among the Latino community. Lalo Alcaraz is a political cartoonist and TV/film writer/producer. For decades, he has agitated for change for Latino and immigrant rights in the United States. Notable works include his daily comic strip La Cucaracha, Coco, The Casagrandes, and Bordertown. Some of these culturally tailored cartoons will be part of the art display, which will be on exhibit open to the public from October 30th until the end of the year. This event is limited to the first 100 people to register and proof of vaccination is required to enter the event.
