Hello! I'm Brooke, a former NYC English teacher. My husband and I moved to Oakland 2 years ago; at that time, I decided to quit classroom teaching and build my own business as a Nutritionist... but since I LOVED teaching and working with kids, I still tutor (virtually) on weekday afternoons/evenings! EDUCATION: —Majored in Education at Santa Clara University —Master's in 1st-6th education from Columbia Teachers College EXPERIENCE: —Taught middle/high school English for 12 years —Also worked in elementary classrooms —Also taught multiple SAT Verbal courses Over the years, I've tutored students of all ages; every child I've tutored has improved their skills significantly. I'm most equipped to assist students with writing, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and/or prepping for verbal sections of the ACT and SAT. However, in my past tutoring experience, I've also helped kids with basic middle and grammar school math, science, history, and Spanish. I take tutoring as seriously as I took my full-time teaching job, always showing up on time and prepared! HOURLY RATE: My rate for virtual tutoring is $100/hour.
