By very definition our American democracy is a government that is designed and intended to represent the majority of Americans at all times. There is nothing in our constitution about any minority group being represented above the majority. Perhaps you remember the Gettysburg Address - "Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the Earth.” There is NEVER a time when any elected leader should work to represent the minority. In a democracy a majority always rules. Trumps rogue behavior is why people referred to him as a tyrant and a dictator. Trump believed that he was a king or supreme ruler. Like every other president, Trump is a servant of the people. Trump worked for us. But Trump believes that every person is beneath him. Trump believes that his opinion is the only one that matters. This is the opposite of how our democracy works. Trump wanted to lead this nation like he leads his empire. That is not going to fly in the U.S. A president is nothing more than the top representative of the masses. Every elected official in America works for (serves) the people. If you want to live in a nation that is ruled by dictator, you are in the wrong country.
