October is breast cancer awareness month. 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop an invasive form of breast cancer in their lifetime. 2.3 million women are diagnosed with breast cancer yearly & 685,000 women die of breast cancer yearly. SCULPT & SIP is a fundraiser that harnesses art, wine and community to raise money and awareness about breast cancer through the celebration of the feminine form. Through plaster-casting our breast we are honoring them and the fact that we in all our forms are "works of art." We welcome you to release your inner goddess and commemorate your breasts. We will be creating personalized busts that will be adorned and embellished how ever you like. Through the power of our imagination and creativity we will be raising money for women affected by breast cancer. As a breast cancer survivor I know first hand the healing power of community and hope. We aim to promote self love and empowerment through sisterhood & art. All included with your ticket. SCULPT: plaster-cast supplies & materials for all who want to create their own breast busts providedEMBELLISHMENTS: glitter, sequins, beads, flowers, feathers to adorn your plaster-cast bust included. (please bring anything else you would like to cast into your busts.)SIPS-handcrafted boutique wine provided from local SF vintner @sleepyslothwine. Proceeds from SCULPT & SIP will be donated to The Pink House Project in Addis Ababa an Ethiopian charity which brings Breast Cancer treatment & support to low income African women. They offer resources, necessities, housing and counseling to diagnosed women.
