Description

We will be assisting with the clean-up of Pflugerville's Historic Colored Addition Cemetery. Meet us at Pflugerville High School at 10am! Burial grounds have always been regarded as places where ancestors could be properly honored and provided with the dignity, care, and respect in death that had often been denied them in life. On the 4th Saturday (October 23rd) the Austin Area Urban League will be assisting with the clean-up of Pflugerville's Historic Colored Addition Cemetery. This African-American cemetery was established around 1920. The land was formulated from the plots of land made available to African-Americans by La Rue Noton in 1910, deeded as Pflugerville’s Colored Addition. Together let's honor those before us and reclaim our history by saving black cemtaries around Central Texas! Meet us at Pflugerville Highschool at 10:00 am to get your supplies!
