Join us for discussion with United Nations-recognized human rights organization led by migrant farmworkers from Guatemala, Mexico and Haiti Alliance for Fair Food: Farm Worker Organizing Mon Oct 4 | 11 - 12pm Live via Zoom Join Ethnic Studies Professor Amy Argenal in welcoming this United Nations-recognized human rights organization led by migrant farmworkers from Guatemala, Mexico and Haiti, working to eliminate the exploitation and extreme abuses that are endemic to our agricultural industry. Organizers will share their perspectives as those who have worked in the fields, and the conditions faced by farmworkers in the U.S. agricultural industry – including abuses such as sexual harassment and forced labor – and the transformative changes that must continue. Mills College LatinX Heritage Month is organized by the planning committee of staff, faculty and students, including The Latine Student Collective (LSC), and the Ethnic Studies Program.
