Eco-friendly Landscape Design and Install company seeks a reliable and hardworking semi-skilled gardening assistant for the maintenance wing of our company to work 15 hrs per week with potential for more work. We use all electric equipment, all organic fertilizers, and no chemical pesticides. We are not a mow and blow company, and pride ourselves on being meticulous, knowledgeable and good for the environment. You will work with another lead gardener, but if you are skilled and knowledgeable, there is room for advancement. Necessary: Plant ID Pruning skills/knowledge Basic Irrigation skills Impeccable Time Management Clear communication Good listener Hard working Meticulous Covid Conscious/Vaccinated Transportation to and from sites Nice to Have: Extensive horticultural knowledge Troubleshoot and repair irrigation/drip systems Identify and treat diseases We provide Tools but do ask that you have your own pruners/PPE Transportation to job sites required, as you will be visiting multiple sites in a day (mostly in the neighborhoods of Berkeley/Oakland) No smoking/drinking/drug use anywhere near job sites. We offer competitive pay ($22/hr to start), room for advancement, paid lunch break and travel time, and a somewhat flexible schedule. We are also kind and compassionate people to work for, and believe in treating anyone who works with us well! Job is 1099 aka Independent Contractor 2 days per week/15 hrs week (with potential for more if you want to work on the Install crew) Please send info about your previous experience, and any other pertinent info.
