Description

Volunteer Day with F.A.R.M. and Stamey Farms Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) will be assisting Retired Master Chief John Stamey IV revitalize his grandfathers farm. The Stamey Farm was established in 1979 by John Stamey II to create a space for family and community to regenerate the land with food, family and lots of love. John Stamey IV enlisted in the US Navy in 1996 to serve a 22 year long stint retiring in 2018 as Master Chief. After only 2 years of enlistment into the Navy, John IV lost his grandfather. Since then, the farm has laid fallow with only memories of the sweet smell of fruit and vegetables looming in the air and cows mooing in the distance. After service, John IV has a new mission- going back to the earth to honor the land his family once cultivated while also utilizing the farm to assist veterans in need. F.A.R.M. is thrilled to be part of his journey and we are asking for your help in making this vision come to fruition. We will be clearing trees and cleaning up debris. Tools are limited. We are asking volunteers to bring any of the tools listed below that they might have: -Trimmers- Chain Saw- Gloves/EyeProtection- Shovels/Rakes- Trash Bags- Wheelbarrow- Trash Pickers- Bug Spray Lunch will be provided. Please register so we know how many people we need to feed. For more information please contact Hyiat El-Jundi [email protected] 469-569-9961
