Pastel is searching for top-tier talent to join our Delivery Operations team as one of our first Delivery Operations Specialists in the San Francisco Bay area! As a team member of Pastel’s Delivery Operations team, you will be the face of our business when interacting with business partners for product pickup and customer hand-offs. Additionally, in this role you will be responsible for packing and managing customer orders. While each day is different at Pastel, candidates can expect to spend their time doing the following: - 50% Driving and order logistics (Ford 250 Cargo Van or similar) - 25% Customer service and interacting with our business partners - 25% Packing customer orders and ensuring accuracy of orders At Pastel, we believe our Delivery Operations team will be crucial in our success and are looking for someone who is passionate about helping small businesses grow and learning in a fast paced environment. Basic Qualifications: - At least 1 year in a customer facing role - Must be at least 21 years old - Must have a valid California driver's license for at least 3 years - Must not have any major moving violations/accidents - Ability to pass physical examination prior to employment - Fluent in English in all forms of communication (speaking, reading, writing) - Experience using technology hardware for transportation and navigation (smartphone, tablets, Google Maps, etc) - Able to operate a commercial cargo van in multiple environments (city/suburb/interstate highway) - Punctual and understand the importance of being on time for customer satisfaction Preferred Qualifications: -Growth Mindset: experience working at a start-up or delivery focused organization focused on continuous improvement everyday; able to receive and provide feedback on a daily basis to help make sure the team is performing at their very best -Team Player: able to work well in a high paced environment with others and takes ownership of their work daily with an understanding that nothing is accomplished alone - Customer Obsessed: always thinking of new and innovative ways to improve the customer experience and make magical moments happen - Small Business Champion: passionate about supporting local businesses grow and helping customers find their new favorite local treats - Operational Excellence: you know your way around the Bay Area or you are passionate about learning how to explore the quickest and most efficient route to meet your customers in the field and excited to try new methods to improve processes Bonus Points: - Experience delivering with application based technology with high customer satisfaction rating (Doordash, UberEats, etc.) Physical Requirements: - Able to drive for extended periods of time, getting in/out of the vehicle to hand deliver customer orders between driving/product pickups - Exposure to all types of weather conditions - Able to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel throughout the day inside a work space and inside/outside of a delivery vehicle - Able to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs throughout a working day - Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) for an entire shift (including, but not limited to face covering, gloves, etc.) unless medically prohibited - Vaccinated against COVID-19 by your first day of employment (Pastel will consider accommodations for those who can't get vaccinated for disability or religious-based reasons) Expected Pay/Benefits, Work Schedule and Environment: - Currently sourcing candidates for part-time hourly and full-time hourly roles - Health/dental/vision benefits - Paid time off (PTO) and sick time - Company provided t-shirt or polo and outerwear to rock the Pastel brand - Food Safety Certification paid for by Pastel - Use of company van for local deliveries/pickups - no need to put miles on your own vehicle - Weekends required (no late nights!)
