Critical Fire Weather Conditions In SoCal Through Wednesday

MALIBU, CA — The National Weather Service Los Angeles issued a warning Monday about weather conditions that put parts of Los Angeles, Ventura County and Santa Clarita at higher fire risk. A Santa Ana wind event will cause high temperatures and low humidity in the western Los Angeles Mountains, Ventura County valleys and eastern mountains and Santa Clarita Valley, according to NWS. Coupled with wind gusts, the areas are expected to be at higher fire risk through Wednesday. #SantaAnaWinds on the way for Mon-Tue. Officials also suggest staying indoors during 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., the hottest parts of the day. Firefighters have been containing a fire near Pyramid Lake, which is just outside of Santa Clarita, since Friday. The fire was 65 percent contained as of Monday morning, according to InciWeb. The Los Angeles Times reported that a fire danger warning has also been issued in Northern California, and a high temperature warning in Central California.
