SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased for the fourth consecutive day Tuesday, dropping one-tenth of a cent to $4.347.
The average price is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and nine-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but $1.127 more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.12 since the start of the year.
The average price dropped two-tenths of a cent on both Sunday and Monday and three-tenths of a cent Saturday.
"Timing is everything," said Jeanette C. McGee, director, AAA external communications, who called mid-September the time when "gas demand starts its seasonal decline."
"While there may be some price fluctuation, we expect most motorists to see stability at the pump," she said.
