An exciting evening of LIVE Flamenco by the dancers of the Maria Bermudez Performing Arts Studio and Flamenco Santa Barbara Dance Company Be transported to Andalucia as you enjoy a lively Fiesta-style Flamenco show at the beautiful El Paseo Restaurant. This special show includes a buffet meal. Cash bar. Tickets are limited to FOUR per live dancer family. Additional general Admission tickets will be available after September 20. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Reservation Required. Musicians and dancers will share their passion for this traditional art form, including Manuel Gutierrez, Gerardo Morales, Andres Vadin, Jose Cortes and local dance company, Flamenco Santa Barbara. About the Director: Maria 'LA Chacha' Bermudez is the founder and artistic director of the Flamenco company Sonidos Gitanos. She has exposed audiences across the world to the unique style and sound of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain — recognized as the birthplace of Flamenco — and the city where Maria has resided for many years. Her outstanding and critically acclaimed performances have graced venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Lope de Vega in Sevilla, Lincoln Center in New York, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles where she will present Flamenco! Our work includes: - Funding live flamenco musicians during Old Spanish Days Fiesta community events and throughout the year to allow performers and spectators to experience Flamenco in its truest form: accompanied by live Spanish guitar (toque), song (cante) and hand-clapping (palmas). - Provides partial tuition scholarships to talented, young Santa Barbara County dancers in need. - Supports workshops lead by master Flamenco artists, often from Spain. - Sponsors the dance company, ¡FLAMENCO! Santa Barbara, which performs year-round at events, private gatherings, senior homes, hospitals and schools. -  Provides young people with an outlet for creativity, expression and physical activity, and instills a sense of community, culture, history, respect, poise and confidence. We are supported by the Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation, Schlinger Foundation, Towbes Foundation and many private donors and foundations who see the value in keeping aspiring young dancers and musicians focused on their passion.
