The Santa Ynez Valley Wind Ensemble (http://www.syvwindensemble.org/ ) / (https://www.facebook.com/SYVWindEnsemble ) will be starting up our fall season rehearsals next week. We are seeking new musicians who are looking for additional opportunities to play and perform.
Last season, we rehearsed every Thursday evening at 7 PM in the outdoor courtyard of Bethania Church in Solvang. Historically we hold our rehearsals at the Santa Ynez High School band room each Thursday evening and hope to resume fall rehearsals at this venue.
Our Maestra is Sharon Jeskey, who is also the band instructor at the San Luis Obispo High School. She is a remarkable and dedicated conductor, and we are so lucky to have her knowledge and commitment.
We especially need horns, low brass, & percussion players. But we will take any wind instrument player, and no audition is required. This is a fun community band, and we have been fortunate to serve our community for 30 years.
