MONROVIA, CA — Monrovia's "Biking for Bucks" program is offering cyclists a chance to have their purchase of a new bicycle reimbursed for up to $350.
The program is open to people who work or live in the city and have purchased a new bicycle between July 1, 2021, and Sept. 30, 2021, city officials said. The reimbursements apply to bikes for adults and children, electric bikes and bicycle accessories.
Reimbursement applications are available online, and the deadline to apply is Sept. 30.
The city is also holding weekly raffle drawings for $50 gift cards to local businesses for cyclists who register their bikes and track their activity, according to Monrovia.
The reimbursement program and raffle drawing are part of "GoMonrovia," a program designed to encourage people in the city to take transportation alternatives to gasoline-powered cars. The alternative forms of transportation include riding a bicycle, taking public transportation and using ride-hailing services, officials said.
Visit the GoMonrovia website for more information about the "Biking for Bucks" program and the raffle drawings.
